Advertising & Sponsorship Policy
Aesthetic Intelligence is published by Harley Street Institute (HSI), which also provides accredited clinical training. This policy explains how editorial content is kept separate from links to HSI training and from any third-party sponsorship, following the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions — including acceptance, peer review, corrections and retractions — are made by the editors without reference to the publisher's commercial interests or to any sponsor. Neither HSI's training activities nor any sponsor influence what is published, how it is reviewed, or its conclusions.
Publisher training links ("Train with HSI")
Articles may be followed by a clearly separated section headed "Train with HSI", listing up to three HSI courses relevant to the article's clinical topic. These are the publisher's own courses, not paid placements. The section sits outside the article text, is visually distinct from it, and states that it is not part of the peer-reviewed article. Course selection is made after publication and has no bearing on editorial decisions.
Third-party sponsorship and advertising
The journal does not currently carry third-party advertising. If sponsorship is accepted in future, it will be: clearly labelled "Sponsored"; displayed site-wide or on rotation rather than placed next to articles about the sponsor's products or therapeutic area; excluded from article text, abstracts and PDFs; and marked for search engines as sponsored. Sponsors will have no access to manuscripts and no influence over content.
The journal will not accept advertising for products that are unlicensed for the advertised use, that make unsupported clinical claims, or that conflict with patient safety.
Competing interests
Where authors hold HSI faculty, editorial or employment roles, this is declared with the article as a competing interest, because HSI provides training in related clinical areas. Authors must also declare any relationship with manufacturers of products discussed. See the Publication Ethics policy for the full disclosure requirements.
