Hyperhidrosis affects a small proportion of patients, around 1-2%. This course focuses on hyperhidrosis and emphasizes the importance of an interprofessional approach in managing this condition. The course includes educational materials that illustrate how hyperhidrosis can have a negative impact on quality of life and provide instruction on the technique of botulinum toxin injections. Participants will be shown how to administer these injections to various areas such as the forehead, scalp, palms, underarms, and feet, with the aim of improving outcomes and practice income.

Course Details

An overview of hyperhidrosis and management using botulinum toxin. This course will provide learners with the fundamentals of diagnosing & treating primary hyperhidrosis. You will be presented with a short presentation, review article(s) and videos followed by an assessment.

If you achieve 80% or more you pass the course, and will receive a printable certificate. If you do not pass, you will have the opportunity to review the content and take the assessment again.

Aims:
This course will provide learners with the fundamentals of hyperhidrosis including aestiology & diagnosis management using botulinum toxin injections. The course is aimed towards candidates who have completed a foundation course in botulinum toxin injections.

Objective(s):
Upon completion of this masterclass on Hyperhidrosis, the learner should be able to discern primary v secondary hyperhidrosis and provide accurate diagnosis. Based on diagnosis, the learner will discuss ongoing care with patient and administer compassionate care through efficacious and safe treatment options with the goal of alleviating patient suffering and ongoing patient care engagement. Further, the learners should understand how to create an inclusive practice environment which welcomes hyperhidrosis sufferers to self-identify and efficient and effective patient and practice management.
